Danesborough & Walton ward councillor and Woburn Sands Mayor, Cllr David Hopkins, is receiving an increasing number of reports from local residents complaining about the shambolic state of postal deliveries across his ward, and MK in general.
Cllr Hopkins comments
‘Complaints about "shambolic" postal services in Milton Keynes reflect real issues such as inconsistent deliveries, late mail, and apparent branch disruptions, with Woburn Sands, Wavendon & Bow Brickhill residents in particular reporting numerous days without mail followed by bulk drops, impacting essential services’.
Cllr Hopkins continues
‘I am pushing Royal Mail for improvements in service reliability in line with Royal Mail obligations in areas like mine and I know that local residents are raising petitions to demand better service’.
The crucial issues and concerns reported to Cllr Hopkins include
· Inconsistent Delivery: Residents report days without mail, then large dumps of mail arriving at once.
· Impact on Life: Missed GP appointments and family cards due to late or missing mail.
Apart from raising complaints with the Royal Mail, Cllr Hopkins has written to the leader of MK City Council on the matter as well as to his local MP calling for an investigation into the state of royal mail services across MK and for restorative action to be taken.
He is urging residents to log complaints by contacting Royal Mail directly and to write to the local MP. It is also worth checking with local social media to share experiences and seek support.
